Uni Haul: Quirky Favourites

University is fast approaching and over the past three weeks I've done a heck of a lot of shopping. Most of it revolved around buying quirky things because I didn't want my belongings to be stolen (square plates, woop woop), so I thought I'd share with you a few of the items that I've bought and am taking with me in a few days!

CACTUS PENCIL CASE // SKINNY DIP

A new pencil case seems to be the norm at the start of every new school year. I kind of got bored of clearing out WHSmith every September, so I took to Asos to find some of the items that I needed!
This House of Holland spotted pencil case came in a close second to the cactus one, but in the end I had to go for the green googley eyed fella. The prickly detail is pretty clever too, and it's roomy enough to carry more than enough pencils/pens/rulers for lectures or classes. On the flip side, it has a gold zip with the brand's logo. Just FYI...

INSTAX SHARE POLAROID PRINTER // FUJIFILM

One of my previous loves was the Instax Fujifilm Polaroid CAMERA, which I used a lot at first but got bored of quite quickly. It was interesting to take photos and watch the images develop, but I found that the downside of that was not really knowing how the images were going to turn out as you can't view it before it's printed. That why I love this PRINTER version... It takes the exact same polaroids that the camera does, but you can print images from your smart phone (Androids & iPhones only) via wifi using their Instax Share app. I've found this so useful printing out my favourite memories, and I'm intending to stick them up on the notice board of my room at Uni. Like the camera, the printer can come on its own, or with 20 or 40 shots depending on how many pictures that you want to print.

Just a few words of warning: The images do not print out in full colour or in really high quality; they print exactly as a polaroid would (which you can see above). You also have to make sure the image you're printing is not too exposed or it will come out even MORE exposed in the polaroid, and you'll probably get an effect that you're really not after, and then end up wasting a shot which can be quite costly. That being said, the device is perfect for printing out your favourite pictures, and it's small enough to fit in your handbag. Love it.

POTTED CACTI // IKEA

This is a cult favourite. I'm sure you've seen these all over Instagram, Twitter & Tumblr, and they've turned into the essential for any girl's bedroom. I actually own a set of these which I have on my office desk in white, and owned another set which sat in my bedroom on my window sill. (One of them died- it also happened to be the one that pricked me really badly. Karma, huh?). They're pretty small but add a nice touch to any room, so I knew that I had to take them with me to uni!

THE BAGS UNDER MY EYES MUG // URBAN OUTFITTERS

A good sturdy mug for my nightly green tea was an essential. This one was on sale from £9 to £3 so I had to grab it! It's sold out online, but there's plenty of bargain mugs still up for sale here.

GLITTER HIP FLASK // ASOS

I've never owned a hip flask, so with 2 weeks of Freshers coming up, I thought why not? Urban Outfitters is usually my friends' go-to for that kind of thing, but this pink glittery one jumped out at me whilst I was scrolling on Asos. It seems a little on the large side, but the bigger the better right...

NUDE LACE UP HEELS // PUBLIC DESIRE

After an accident in which my black lace up heels broke, I was devastated and needed to replace them  ASAP! I'd had my eyes on these for a couple of months so now seemed like the perfect time to purchase them, as I intend to pair it with my House of CB Luigia dress for my Fresher's ball.

SELMA LARGE LEATHER SATCHEL // MICHAEL KORS

This one was less of a purchase and more of a gift from my parents for my A-Level results. I didn't own a black handbag until now, so I thought this one would be a perfect everyday go to item. It's available direct from Michael Kors or you can purchase it from the link above at Selfridges.

JET SET SAFFIANO WALLET BLACK // MICHAEL KORS

This matching purse is new in the USA, so is unavailable online in the UK. However a similar one can be found here.

CHUBBY UNICORN PHONE CASE // SKINNY DIP

This was a cheeky purchase from Gatwick Airport when I was en route to Amsterdam. The £3 discount was worth it of course, but it's a super cute case! It also came with a free screen protecter which I was happily surprised with when I opened the packaging. It's come in very handy actually, as I've clocked up a fair few scratches.

RADIO STAR POINTED BOOTS // ASOS

Inspired by the lovely Charlotte Martin a while back, I came across her full denim outfit on instagram, which she paired with suede cobalt boots from Topshop, very similar to the ones above. Unfortunately those sold out and I've waited very patiently to grab a pair similar to hers, so thank you for these Asos! They're very comfortable and leave just enough room to wear a decent pair of socks, so I'll be sporting these deep into winter time.

LADY LUCK HEART BAG // SKINNY DIP

Last but not least is this statement bag! It's from Skinny Dip's collaboration with Felicity Hayward, a name which I had not heard until I came across this piece but upon viewing her website I can see why the collab happened. I absolutely adore this bag, which comes with a gold chain strap to put over your shoulder, or perhaps I might just carry it as a clutch. Either way... it's cute AF. This one is not on Skinny Dip's site but is exclusive to Asos!

What's your favourite item from this list? Or better yet whats your go to quirky accessory...
