Bleaching My Hair with Bleach London // Review + After care routine

What better way to head into spring by lightening my hair once again? Lets just say I'm a bit of a hair amateur, and I really have no clue how to do these things. I've been bleaching my hair for about 2 years now (always extensions, never my own hair, I don't think my real hair could hack the amount of mistakes i've made!) and I'm finally getting the hang of it. Shock horror: I only just found out a couple of days ago that if you wrap bleached hair in foil that it works faster, which is probably why when I bleached my hair last time, I got through so many packets of bleach!

So once I braved cutting my hair (I also did this myself), I used the Bleach London Total Bleach To lighten the ends of my hair - knowing full well that I would have to do this in more than one stage. Being silly though, I used the White toner too early, so I'm going to pick up another one of these when I've bleached my hair again. At the moment my hair is sitting in an almost blonde-with-a-hint-of-ginger tone, but none the less it looks alright once curled. My aim is to get the ends completely white, and see if I can turn this into a silver/lilac ombre kind of thing.

Bleach London's bleach does the job alright, it lightens your hair quite a bit. Tip: if you have really dark hair like me, you're going to need to lighten your hair more than once to get to blonde, and probably around 3 times if you want to get to platinum. You shouldn't do this more than once a week though, I use the Reincarnation mask that comes with the Bleach London pack, as well as Herbal Essences hello hydration conditioner mixed together to condition my hair. After bleaching and washing out, I put both of these all over my hair and wrap in a towel, then head off to watch Pretty Little Liars for the full 45 minutes. That way when I get back, and wash out the conditioner, my hair isn't as dry as it would have been without being conditioned! Through the week again, I condition twice more before setting out to bleach again the following weekend.

One more tip... work through your hair quickly, because I've found that continuously starting on the left side of my hair has made it lighter than the right side, and I've had to switch what side I start with both times to make sure the hair is lightened evenly.

I give the total bleach 4/5. However, I'm not in a position to rate the toner just yet, I'll wait until my hair is the right colour so I can give the product a fair review.

What do you think? If you could dye your hair any colour what would it be?
